A Change Of Pace
Pikes Peak catching fire from the Alpenglow as downtown Colorado Springs looks on.
I tend to gravitate to landscapes, but I had an excuse to do some street photography and sneak in a landscape too. Street photography is so enjoyable because objects and buildings on the streets are generally made up of straight and clean lines. It was fun to contrast those textures with the smooth and rounded surfaces of Pikes Peak in the background just as it was being hit with a beautiful Alpenglow.
Another reason I enjoy shooting street photography, especially early in the morning, is because you can feel the heartbeat of the city. There is a hum of activity. Cars hustle by as people head off to their workplaces, a glowing warm light from the window of a coffee shop with the smell of freshly ground coffee in the air. The city teems with movement. A new day coming to life.
