We didn’t actually see it pull in.
We were on our way to where we were staying for the night when we came around the corner near the Leadville train station and saw it—the Holiday Express glowing against the night sky. I had been by this station before. Just a couple of months earlier, we had taken this same train to see the fall colors in the Colorado high country.
