Now for something completely different
I picked up this little point and shoot Olympus Pen EE v1 from 1961 and I love it! Don’t get me wrong. I love shooting on my R6, but this camera brings its own aesthetic and quirkiness.
This camera was made at a time when film was expensive and camera manufacturer’s were trying to get more shots out of a roll of film. So, they took a 35mm film frame and cut it in half. A typical roll of film could now get 72 exposures out of a 36 exposure roll! This is only the start of its quirkiness.
Because it’s half frame when you hold the camera landscape the frame is portrait and likewise, when you want to shoot landscape you have to turn the camera portrait.
