Time To Stretch
I’ve always been enamored by landscapes. I love their beauty, and for me, I also love the Creator behind them. I love to tell His story by capturing these beautiful canvases.
Recently I have been inspired by other photographers to push to capture other genres as well. It has opened my eyes to being less about shooting one type of image and using my photography in a much more general sense to document what is going on around me. To be a participant rather than an observer.
I have some opportunities in the near future to tell the story of a ministry in southern Mexico that is helping coffee farmers get their product to market and feed their families. I also am helping a friends’ business in North Carolina to fill their establishment with imagery that reflects the vibe and community around them. Very different experiences that will stretch me beyond my comfort zone.
Does this mean I will not focus on landscapes anymore? No!! I believe this broader vision will help me to grow as a photographer and ultimately become a much better storyteller regardless of the subject matter.
