Why I’m Done Chasing Algorithms

I’m done chasing algorhithms

For the past couple of years, I’ve been trying to share my images with the world—and like a lot of photographers, I thought Instagram was the place to do it. It used to be about photography, but now it feels more about chasing reels, likes, follows, and trying to keep up with a moving target called “the algorithm.”

One day it’s “post daily,” the next it’s “don’t post daily, just be consistent.” Add hashtags. Make a reel. Hook people in three seconds. Honestly, it’s exhausting—and it’s had me asking: is this really worth it?

I’m not an influencer or social media guru. I’m an artist. I want to share my work without hoops to jump through or the need for constant validation.

That’s why I’ve decided to make my website the home base for sharing my images and stories. It’s where I can connect with people directly, without the noise and pressure of social platforms. And if you’d like to stay up to date with my latest work, and upcoming print releases, you can join my email list as well.

So while I won’t leave social media altogether, my focus will be on creating and sharing my art on my own terms. If you follow along, my hope is that my images bring you the same sense of wonder I felt when I captured them.
