Light In The Darkness

I almost missed the scale of this when I was standing at the top of Dyrhólaey. It wasn't until I was looking back at the photos later that the light striking the countryside really got to me.

Seeing those tiny farmhouses tucked into such a massive landscape changed how I looked at the frame. As a photographer, I’m often focused on "getting the shot," but for the people in those houses, this beauty is just... home.

It made me think about the difference between being a witness and being a resident. Their appreciation isn’t about a portfolio or a post; it’s likely a much deeper sense of gratitude for the world they wake up to every day. It’s a reminder to look for these glimpses of something bigger not just when the light is perfect, but in the quiet, routine parts of our lives, too.
