Beyond the Horizon: Finding the Evidence
The sacred scale of the San Juan Mountains.
For years, I’ve told people I was a landscape photographer. I spent my time "chasing the light" across the Colorado wilderness, looking for the perfect sunset or the most dramatic peak. I was looking for the "pretty" picture.
But my eye has changed. I’ve realized that my work is about something much deeper than aesthetics. It has become an act of witnessing.
The Architecture of Faith
I believe that creation wasn’t an accident. There is a Designer behind all of it, and His work is a constant reminder of our connection to Him. It reminds me of the lyrics from an old Geoff Moore song:
"As the potter shapes his clay, He leaves evidence... and our Father does the same. His creation is evidence."
That "evidence" is what I am chasing. It is no longer just about the light; it’s about the fingerprints left behind.

The Scale and the Small
Once I started looking for the evidence, I began to see Him everywhere.
I see the Divine Design in the sacred scale of the mountain ranges I’ve photographed. But I also see it in the quiet echoes of an old building on the plains, reflecting the lives and legacies of those who inhabited it.
More recently, this journey took me "beyond" the landscape. I saw that same evidence in the resilient faces of coffee farmers in Chiapas, Mexico. I saw it in the hands of those serving them. I even saw it in the small, intimate details—like pairs of shoes left behind by a children in an orphanage.
A witness to the small things that are never truly small.
An Invitation to Observe
Taking a picture is no longer just about getting a "shot." It is a witness to Him working all around us. Seeing the world this way—from the massive peaks to the minute details—deepens my love for the Creator and the world He has shaped.
