Insignificance?
Does being small mean being insignificant?
Looking at this scene, it’s easy to feel swallowed up by the epic scale of the mountains. But there is a divine intentionality in the layers. Just like a single blade of grass might seem meaningless on its own, together these tufts create a soft, golden bed that perfectly contrasts the rugged peaks.
I chose a wide angle lens because a closeup of the people would have missed the point. I wanted to capture the "stillness" of their awe. Even with the blurred motion of a hand quickly raising a phone to "catch" the moment, they were clearly anchored in the view.
We aren't just lost in the vastness of God’s creation. We are a part of the design—small, yes, but entirely necessary to the beauty of the story.
Do you ever find it hard to balance feeling 'small' with knowing you have a purpose? I'd love to hear how you navigate that.
