Before my trip to Chiapas, I went out on a photo walk not to chase great photos, but to practice seeing people. Street photography is forcing me out of comfort and into awareness—training my eye for moments and stories that won’t wait.

We didn’t see it pull in. We came around the corner near the Leadville train station and found the Holiday Express glowing against the night sky—an unexpected moment of warmth, light, and winter stillness.

The day after Thanksgiving, my wife and I decided to take an impromptu trip up to the Leadville, Colorado area—one of our favorite places to escape to when we need a quick reset.

A quiet snow day turned into a simple photo walk—slowing down, paying attention, and noticing what I usually pass by.

I’ve always been enamored by landscapes. I love their beauty, and for me, I also love the Creator behind them. I love to tell His story by capturing these beautiful canvases.

I don’t usually shoot street, but this morning was different—clean city lines, glowing coffee shop windows, and Pikes Peak lit up in alpenglow. Come see what happens when the city wakes up.

One of the things my wife and I love to do is get out and enjoy God’s creation whenever we can. In late September, we were able to sneak away to Leadville to take in the fall colors. Timing is always tricky—we’ve gone too early before, when everything was still green, and we’ve gone too late, when the wind had already stripped the trees bare. But this year? We hit it at the absolute peak.

I was in Louisville this past week for a work conference. The days were packed, so I didn’t have a ton of time to explore, but I brought my camera along anyway and tried to make the most of the in-between moments.

There are places you simply visit on vacation, and then there are places that change you. For me, that place is Iceland. I’ve only been twice, but it’s moved me in ways that are hard to explain—something about it just sticks with you long after you’ve left.
