The first time we set foot in Iceland was September 2023. We had ten days, a rented campervan, and a plan to drive all the way around Ring Road. Two years later, we went back for another ten days — this time sticking mostly to the southern coast so we could slow down and linger in places we loved the first time around.

I don’t usually shoot street, but this morning was different—clean city lines, glowing coffee shop windows, and Pikes Peak lit up in alpenglow. Come see what happens when the city wakes up.

Through conversations about heaven and the brokenness of our world, I’ve been reminded that beauty still whispers of something greater. Each photo, each moment, points to the One who is already making all things new.

One of the things my wife and I love to do is get out and enjoy God’s creation whenever we can. In late September, we were able to sneak away to Leadville to take in the fall colors. Timing is always tricky—we’ve gone too early before, when everything was still green, and we’ve gone too late, when the wind had already stripped the trees bare. But this year? We hit it at the absolute peak.

I was in Louisville this past week for a work conference. The days were packed, so I didn’t have a ton of time to explore, but I brought my camera along anyway and tried to make the most of the in-between moments.

This morning I decided to check out some beautiful back country behind Pikes Peak. Peaceful drive, beautiful landscapes. What more could you ask for?

For the past couple of years, I’ve been trying to share my images with the world—and like a lot of photographers, I thought Instagram was the place to do it. It used to be about photography, but now it feels more about chasing reels, likes, follows, and trying to keep up with a moving target called “the algorithm.”

There are places you simply visit on vacation, and then there are places that change you. For me, that place is Iceland. I’ve only been twice, but it’s moved me in ways that are hard to explain—something about it just sticks with you long after you’ve left.
